1. Check the Thermostat - Make sure the thermostat is set to cool by first checking the settings. To make sure no one in your home has altered the temperature settings, verify the settings whether they are accurate. 
2. Check the Air Filter - Check the airflow is it dirty or clean. 
3. Check the Windows - Any window or door left open (slightly open) will cause the AC not to give proper cooling.
4. Identify the AC's Reset Button - When your air conditioner won't turn on, it may simply need to be reset. Not all ACs have a reset button, so first determine if your unit does. If you can find the reset button, push it before attempting to turn your AC on again.
