πΌ Purpose:
- Ensure employees understand their sick leave rights.
- Maintain fairness and compliance with UAE labor laws.
- Prevent misuse of leave.
β Eligibility:
- Must have completed 6 months with the company.
π Leave Details:
- 90 days per year (per UAE law).
- Carryover to next year: Not allowed.
- Eligible Salary Breakdown:
β First 15 days: Full pay
π‘ Next 30 days: Half pay
β Last 45 days: Unpaid
π How to Apply:
- Apply in OASYS: Submit sick leave request in OASYS.
- Mandatory: Attach DHA-certified medical certificate.
- Medical reports issued outside the UAE must be attested by the relevant authorities and the UAE Embassy.
π¨No sick leave certificate? Apply for annual leave/ unpaid leave instead.
π’ Inform your manager before your work time starts if you're taking a sick leave.
π« No Paid Sick Leave If:
- On probation.
- Illness due to misconduct (e.g., alcohol, drugs).
- Violation of safety rules.
β οΈ Key Points:
- Employees on probation must get verbal approval from their direct line manager. Once you have the verbal approval, submit the unpaid leave application in OASYS for written confirmation.
- High absence rates will be investigated and addressed.
- Salary deductions for unapproved absences.
- Disciplinary actions for repeated violations.
- Termination for unauthorized long absences.
